Society for Child Support and economic empowerment (SOCSEE) is an independent, non-Governmental, non-political, not – profit Organization was established in 2014 but officially registered with corporate Affairs commission (CAC) in 2016 with the overall aim of improving the living condition of society through access to quality education, health and empowerment of under-privilege children, women and youth.

Objectives
- To create awareness, wipe out ignorance through provision of Health Information, Education and Communication on various health and development issues.
- To plan and implement public enlightenment programs aimed at ensuring community participation, empowerment and create ownership on education health and development issues.
- To address gender inequalities in Education, health and development issues
- To research, including operational research, so as to encourage evidence – based interventions.
- To build the capacity of Education and health personnel and community members through training and re-training.
- To do such other activities that is incidental to the attainment of Education and health for all and the SDGs.
- To enhance business management skills of vulnerable and under privilege children and strengthen their economic base as individual and collective group.
- To promote positive living and improve the quality of life through education, advocacy, and support economic empowerment.

Source of Funding:
- Funds from government for contractual work done or grants from bilateral and multi-lateral institutions and inter-governmental organizations and other national and international institution and donor agencies.
- Contributions/grants from non-governmental organizations including foundations and individuals.
- The chairman may also accept assistance on behalf of the organization particularly fellowships from International agencies, bilateral, multi-lateral and NGOs.
- The chairman shall, with assistance from the Administrative Officer, embark upon fund raising drive to raise money for the organizations programs and projects.

Projects/activities implemented since incorporation:
- Participation in Active Case Finding (ACF) of TB clients in some selected communities in Kano state Global Fund Grant.
- Community empowerment for the establishment of Community Based Organizations (CBOs) in some LGAs in Kano state
- Community outreach on health education campaigns aimed at improving knowledge on reproductive health and utilization of health facilities in some selected hard to reach communities in Kano state.
- Provision of Family Planning and Antenatal services at Warawa and Bebeji LGA, Kano state from the Challenge Initiative Grant.
- Provision of Voluntary Counseling and Testing Services for early detection of Hypertension HIV/AIDS, Malaria and Diabetics aimed at improving urban health in Kano metropolis

Organization and Management Structure
SOCSEE is registered with Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) CAC/IT/No 90715, Abuja. Its scope of operations is at LGA, State, Regional and National levels.
Organizational and Management Structure
For the purposes of smooth running of the organization and the attainment of its aims and objectives, SOCSEE has the following bodies:
- i) Board of Trustees (BOT)
- ii) Management Team
Board of Trustees (BOT)
- The BOT consists of a chairman and a minimum of seven and maximum of ten members.
- A trustee is a committed member (men and women) of the organization of proven integrity and sound character
- A trustee shall not be less than 35 years of age
- A trustee shall be of sound working experience in health and development arena, either in public or private sector.
The appointment of a trustee shall be by nomination (during AGM) by any member, subject to the acceptance of at least 2/3 majority of members present at the meeting. Any elected trustee shall hold office for a period of 4year renewable. In the event of death, insanity, resignation, bankruptcy, conviction by a court of law, non-performance, misconduct or any other reason that would render the position of any trustee or trustees vacant, the replacement shall be in conformity with the relevant sections of the organizations constitution.
